Honda Mobilio specifications

Are you looking for detailed specifications of the upcoming Honda Mobilio minivan in India? Learn more about this Honda MPV and the expected specs, price and other details.

Honda is expected to launch its first MPV - Honda Mobilio sometime in 2014. This is the first MPV from Honda to launch in the country. Until Honda makes the official announcements, we can only guess the specs. However, based on the launch announcement in Indonesia, the Mobilio is built on its popular Brio platform.

Honda Mobilio is currently offered in Indonesia and it is the first MPV from Honda in Indonesia too. It was launched in Sept 2013.

Here is spec of Mobilio launched in Indonesia. The specs are not expected to change much when this MPV is introduced in India sometime in 2014.

Dimensions: 4386 mm x 1683 mm x 1603 mm
Ground clearance: 185 mm
Wheelbase: 2560 mm
Engine: 1.5 Litre i-VTEC engine
Power: 116bhp
Torque: 14.6kgm
Number of seats: 7 (including driver)

Mobilio comes with 2 engine options in Indonesia - Petrol and Diesel. No information is revealed by the company regarding the variants for India launch. However, both diesel and petrol variants are expected here, according to the analysts. It is not clear whether an automatic variant also will be launched in India.

The 1.5 litre engine is the same one that is powering Amaze and Brio. However, with this midsized engine, Mobilio may not be able to compete with the bigger SUVs like Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra XUV 500.

Honda Mobilio specifications has a lot of similarities with the Brio since it shares the platform and several components. From outside, this MPV looks very familiar to that of Brio or Amaze, especially from the front. However, Mobilio is more stylish and modern with a better design and bigger size.

This is a 7 seater MPV, placed in the category of Maruti Ertiga and can offer tough competition to Ertiga, Toyota Innova and Renault Duster.

Why Mobilio is getting compared with ERTIGA and ENJOY? Honda is selling their cars in higher price tag, if they continue to be doing it for MPV as well, then, this will be another super BIG FLOP in terms of buying. As why to buy this MPV (based on Brio platform) at 8 to 11 lakhs, when you add some more money you go for Toyota Innova, which is another over priced MPV only like this MPV.

Can you tell me what is the price difference between petrol and diesel variants? If the difference is very high, it is better to go for the petrol variant. Most people use such big cars only for rare family trips, which is just a few times per year.

Let it be a sub 4 metre MPV & suitably priced; it will give a run for its life to Ford Eco Sport.

When compared with Ertiga and Enjoy, the price range should also be comparable. Again maintenance cost is higher than Maruthi and service availability of Honda is less when it is compared to its competitor. Ertiga even though a hit in market has gone into huge discounts as buyers are thinking why to buy a car in this season of car market. Price will be the game changer for Mobilio.

It will be a great idea to have a sub 4 meter mini SUV based on Honda Brio. If suitably priced, it will put a full stop to many other brands which are thinking of coming to Indian market. See the great success of Duster & Ecosport. Add Honda to the competition and Honda will be the winner all the way. Why get into already crowded segmant of MPV in India?

By now I suppose shape, size, specs etc of Honda Mobilio may have been decided. What's the delay in its Launch? Are they waiting for the launch of Datsun Go Plus or are they waiting for the second plant of Ford Ecosport to be commissioned? Earlier the launch of Mobilio, better for it to capture the market.

I am waiting to own Honda Mobilio, however can't wait beyond 31 July. I will go for any car if Mobilio not launched by 15 Jul 2014.

I am surprised with the low power engine used for a MPV like Mobilio. How can it reliably carry 7-8 people with a Brio engine? I will go for it if they can come with a better engine. I agree that it is a good 7 seater car on all other aspects.

There are some crazy people I come across who compare Mobilio with XUV 500.

Mobillo will be successful only when Honda provide service centres at small towns in the country. I love the vehicle but I am afraid of the lack of service centers in India.

I guess Honda launched a new variant of Mobilio in India. Can you please share more details of the new variant? Is it more expensive? What are the new features?
