Honda is expected to launch its first MPV - Honda Mobilio sometime in 2014. This is the first MPV from Honda to launch in the country. Until Honda makes the official announcements, we can only guess the specs. However, based on the launch announcement in Indonesia, the Mobilio is built on its popular Brio platform.
Honda Mobilio is currently offered in Indonesia and it is the first MPV from Honda in Indonesia too. It was launched in Sept 2013.
Here is spec of Mobilio launched in Indonesia. The specs are not expected to change much when this MPV is introduced in India sometime in 2014.
Dimensions: 4386 mm x 1683 mm x 1603 mm
Ground clearance: 185 mm
Wheelbase: 2560 mm
Engine: 1.5 Litre i-VTEC engine
Number of seats: 7 (including driver)
Mobilio comes with 2 engine options in Indonesia - Petrol and Diesel. No information is revealed by the company regarding the variants for India launch. However, both diesel and petrol variants are expected here, according to the analysts. It is not clear whether an automatic variant also will be launched in India.
The 1.5 litre engine is the same one that is powering Amaze and Brio. However, with this midsized engine, Mobilio may not be able to compete with the bigger SUVs like Toyota Fortuner and Mahindra XUV 500.
Honda Mobilio specifications has a lot of similarities with the Brio since it shares the platform and several components. From outside, this MPV looks very familiar to that of Brio or Amaze, especially from the front. However, Mobilio is more stylish and modern with a better design and bigger size.
This is a 7 seater MPV, placed in the category of Maruti Ertiga and can offer tough competition to Ertiga, Toyota Innova and Renault Duster.

|Why Mobilio is getting compared with ERTIGA and ENJOY? Honda is selling their cars in higher price tag, if they continue to be doing it for MPV as well, then, this will be another super BIG FLOP in terms of buying. As why to buy this MPV (based on Brio platform) at 8 to 11 lakhs, when you add some more money you go for Toyota Innova, which is another over priced MPV only like this MPV.|

|Can you tell me what is the price difference between petrol and diesel variants? If the difference is very high, it is better to go for the petrol variant. Most people use such big cars only for rare family trips, which is just a few times per year.|
